The e-bike is certainly my preferred option as it comes all-inclusive. An automatic lock, stand, front basket to carry shopping and some added power when yours run low.
I headed out from the GoBike store opposite Woolworths and next to Savannah Café with friend and fellow adventurer, Emilia Knight. As it was Saturday a trip to Hermanus Country Market was essential and so began our test ride. A few nervous peddles later and we were on our way. All the attention received by our new accessories at the market was incentive to venture further to Dutchies on Grotto Beach. Here I was hoping to extend the Dutch culture of bitterballen and cycling to inspire more locals to try cycling on errand runs and miss the parking pressure.

Even more fascinating was our trip into the mountains with e-bikes. Without electric bicycles we would have never discovered the peaceful but amazing area. The owners were both very kind and helpful and the bicycles were in excellent condition.

On Sunday we went e-biking, it was wonderful cycling using very little effort uphill and I could finally keep up with the others. I really loved it, so I highly recommend checking it out.

The bike, a Giant Talon, was in excellent condition and he was very helpful in recommending a route.
Hermanus has some excellent MTB routes, from easy to very technical.

Cycling through some vineyards with views of the beautiful mountains and the sea is something very special.

Really helpful couple rented us their ebikes and advised us on where to ride. We headed off on our
own wine tasting tour which was easy to do and great fun. The rental equipment was in excellent
working order.

Dean accompanied us and adapted the tour to our wishes. He is very friendly, just as his wife in the shop, and let us experience the hemel en
aarde valley.
How beautiful! We visited good wine farms with friendly people. The suspension on
the mountain bikes really makes it easy to climb the hills.
We can really recommend this activity.
Next time we try the fat bikes for a ride on Grotto beach!
